Jamaica is entering a critical phase of recovery and long-term reconstruction following recent natural events, with an unprecedented level of international, national, and community-backed funding now committed to rebuilding the country’s housing and infrastructure.
Major Multilateral Funding Commitments
Jamaica has secured a comprehensive international support package of up to approximately US $6.7 billion over three years, provided by a consortium of leading institutions including CAF, the Caribbean Development Bank, the IDB Group, the IMF, and the World Bank. This funding is focused on national recovery, resilience, and reconstruction programmes, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure, housing, and essential services.
National Fundraising and Relief Efforts
Alongside multilateral funding, domestic and diaspora-led initiatives have played a vital role:
• The Government of Jamaica’s Support Jamaica portal has raised over US $1 million in direct donations.
• The “I Love Jamaica” telethon and concert series has generated in excess of US $65 million in support of the national relief programme.
International and Community-Led Support
Additional funding has been mobilised through international and community efforts:
• Public campaigns linked to telethons and benefit events have raised approximately US $3.4 million.
• Church and faith-led appeals have raised approximately £42,000.
• A coalition-led initiative raised US $2.7 million, which was matched to deliver a total of approximately US $5.4 million.
From Funding to Delivery
While the scale of funding is significant, the real challenge — and opportunity — lies in turning capital into delivered outcomes.
We are working closely with government, landowners, local contractors, and aligned investors on housing and infrastructure projects across Jamaica, supporting the transition from funding commitments to real-world delivery. Our focus spans:
• Social and affordable housing
• Mid-tier residential developments
• Infrastructure and essential services
• Resilient, future-proof construction aligned with national priorities
By aligning policy, land, capital, and delivery partners, projects can move beyond intention and into construction — creating homes, strengthening communities, and building long-term resilience.
Looking Ahead
Jamaica’s recovery is underpinned by strong international confidence, national leadership, and global community support. With billions committed and momentum building, this is a defining moment to deliver housing and infrastructure at scale — responsibly, efficiently, and in partnership with government.
